An opportunity to work for a well-reputed MNC as a Chartering Manager in their Singapore office has arisen.  In this position you will be the key contact for the negotiation and management of freight rates and contract proposals with shipowners and third-party brokers. Your main purpose is to support the existing business and the immediate growth plan with cost-effective freight solutions.

Key responsibilities will include the following;

  • Work closely with traders to attend to their enquiries
  • Negotiate and execute physical freight contracts with ship owners and brokers on a spot and long-term basis
  • Monitor in-house chartered vessels, continually reviewing market conditions, rates and availability of tonnage
  • Ensure charterparties are negotiated in accordance with company standards 
  • Provide advice on matters that effect operational and demurrage risk exposure 

To be a suitable candidate you must have a proven background as a Chartering Manager within the tanker sector negotiating voyage and time charter contracts for CPP, DPP and petrochemical cargoes with at least six years of chartering experience.   The successful applicant will be highly responsible and motivated individual with an established network.  You will be a skilled negotiator with excellent analytical skills who has the ability to work effectively under pressure.    Past experience taking vessels on timecharter is desirable.
