Job Description

A well-reputed ship management company is looking for a Crewing Superintendent to join their growing Singapore team.

The main responsibilities of this role will include, but not limited to:

  • communicating the company’s vision, mission, policies, objectives, and values and ensuring that they are understood and fully implemented
  • ensuring that all seafarers are trained and qualified in full compliance with Company’s STCW and Flag State requirements
  • reviewing and monitoring that all vessels have safe manning levels on board
  • ensuring that activities of the Crewing Department are well planned, organised and that safeguards are established against all identified risks
  • ensuring that the vessels are managed according to the contractual terms stipulated in the respective management agreement
  • representing the Crewing Department in the Company’s Emergency Response Team and being conversant with assigned duties in case of an emergency
  • ensuring that records of employment are maintained, and that seafarers have proper documentation for travel, certificates, medical report, training requirements based on prevailing regulations (company, national and international)
  • liaising the selection and recruitment of new senior officers as well as arranging interviews and briefings as required for assigned group of ships
  • monitoring performance evaluations for senior officers for assigned group of ships and arrange for follow – up where required
  • conducting crew changes in compliance with the seafarers’ employment agreement
  • Ensuring that customers’ requirements are implemented, and complaints are properly dealt with best interests
  • ensuring that seafarer employment agreements are issued in compliance with MLC, Flag State and National requirements
  • monitoring of crew performance including progress of any cadets and arranging follow-up where required

To be successful you will have at seagoing experience as an officer and / or a university degree and / or experience in crewing recruitment of not less than two (2) years.   You must have the ability to prioritise and meet critical deadlines and possess strong communication, interpersonal and team working skills.

This role is open to candidates with ready working entitlement in Singapore.
