Our client is an established ship manager, looking for a Technical Superintendent to join their team managing the tanker fleet from their Shanghai office.
Ensuring the technical management of your vessels in a safe, economical and effective manner, you will:
- Monitor the technical and operational condition and performance of vessels
- Promote and develop a strong safety and environmental culture, plus energy efficiency awareness on board
- Support the crew on board with technical and operational matters
- Arrange repairs and dry dockings in a timely and cost effective manner
- Ensure vessels are fully certified according to international standards and requirements
As a Chief Engineer of tankers for at least two years, it is essential to have experience as a Technical Superintendent of tankers (oil, chemical, asphalt carrier) of at least one year. It is an advantage if candidates have experience of thermal oil heaters and Framo pump / screw pump.
Strong communication skills are essential, with fluency in Mandarin and English, as well as teamworking ability.
Candidates already living in Shanghai or looking to return will be prioritised.
