This global shipping organisation is looking for a Deputy General Manager, Dangerous Goods to join their team in Singapore. In this role, your primary responsibilities include:
Providing global leadership and direction in acceptance of Hazardous and special cargo, ensuring timely update to Dangerous Goods (DG)/ Special Cargo policy by keeping abreast of new developments and regulations, internal and external coordination to comply with regulations on hazardous and special cargo. Lead in assessment and investigation of incidents and new hazardous and special shipments and provide guidance to subject matter experts as well as supervising and providing support to regional and local offices engaging hazardous and special cargo acceptance and lead in digitalization and standardization of procedures by working with global office network
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in relevant discipline
- At least 15 years in container shipping industry with hands-on experience in Haz-mat and special cargo
- Strong knowledge of IMDG code and container stowage
- Proven track record in managing DG and Special Cargo
- Leadership skills to manage team in Global HQ and working with teams globally
- Strong communication and partnership skills to work across functions and geographies
