This leading organisation is looking for Assistant Manager, Legal to join their global team in Singapore.
In this role your primary responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic and practical legal review and advice to management and various business units
- Provide legal support and advice to business units to ensure projects are carried out as legally viable as possible and in compliance with laws and regulations with proper legal/compliance risk analysis through due diligence (working with both internal and external parties)
- Research the latest development of legal/compliance/risk management matters, including M&A and keep the management / organization updated
- Engage and provide direction to business units with regards to structure of deal in relation to our core business expertise and skillset and provide healthy challenge to business unit owners about viability of projects
- Support the preliminary business projects, as required from time to time, from the view of legal support (mainly contract review, drafting and negotiation)
- Provide administrative support work for smooth communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with any Legal/Compliance/Risk Management projects and programs where necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in law or relevant discipline
- More than 3 years of related experience in M&A, preferably in shipping or related industries
- Experience in MS Suite
- Knowledge of corporate law/structure, template of SHA, and merger filing requirements (contract reviews and options), etc.
- Basic knowledge of shipping and adjacent industries
- Team player and able to work independently
